Rendering my project was definitely a hassle, after a lot of trial and error (along with a little bit of help from youtube) I eventually successfully rendered my animation in to TIFF files. The reasoning for TIFF is mainly because I understand it’s a reliable image format and that my tutors recommended it. However after searching in Google I got a result stating “TIFF files can be saved in a variety of color formats and in various forms of compression. TIFFs use lossless compression to maintain image integrity and clarity and are often used for professional photography.” Now while I’m not a professional photographer, having lossless compression is definitely worth the effort as it allows to keep the quality of the original render.
What went wrong?
I’m not entirely sure honestly, I chose the frame/animation ext that allowed for multiple frames rendered, successfully rendered all 500 frames at the HD_1080 preset (1920×1080) with the built in Arnold render yet every time I tried to import it in to Adobe Premiere Pro (before I had access to After Effects) or Adobe AE it would only allow me to input one frame – or stated that the file type was no supported.
Somehow through awkward settings management I “fixed” my issue which in reality was me just setting the quality to HD_720 then hoping for the best. I’m very confused as to why this was the fix and my only rational thought is that the file size was too big (however as programs like AE handle large, raw video files I feel like this is unlikely).
