3D Modeling tutorial evaluation.

This simple Maya video goes over the process of creating a well, demonstrating the effect of Bevel, Duplicate, Combine along with a whole array of others (Move tool is fairly prominent) in a way that doesn’t feel complicated. I personally find these quite helpful as I’m able to watch and re-watch the video at my own pace, testing those processes myself while watching them on repeat to allow me to explore and understand it organically.

The tutorial does make the assumption that you understand the basics of poly modeling, using vertices to stretch the shape with no added explanation (however most of the tools will have the name + a keyboard shortcut to allow quick access). It’s easy enough to follow along though as the process is transferable to other areas within Maya. It also manages to show the strength and simplicity of Duplicating and moving, with most of the assets being copied and reused, changing only through scaling, rotating and/or slight alterations with the move tool.
